The Rivers state Police command was tuesday confronted with the challenge of a suicidal corporal who shot a superior officer, an inspector, before turning the gun on himself and taking his own life. The tragic event occurred around 9.00am in Port Harcourt, Rivers state.
Findings reveals that both officers were attached to Plantgeria, an oil servicing company, in the Trans-Amadi area of Port Harcourt.
Eyewitnesses told that both officers had a disagreement over monetary gift, prompting the corporal to take laws into his own hands.
Mr. Ben Ugwuegbulam, the Rivers Police Command Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, who confirmed the incident, however said the Police Inspector survived as he was shot on the leg. He added that he was receiving treatment at Teme Clinic in Diobu part of Port Harcourt.
The Police spokesman said both victims were rushed to the clinic for treatment immediately after the incident, but the Corporal, who refused treatment, died shortly afterwards.
Ugwuegbulam added that the AK-47 rifle used by the police corporal has been recovered while the State Criminal Investigations Department (SCID) had started investigations to unravel the cause of the incident.

It is good for them, they should kill themselves, instead of killing innocent people
You can see how demented some of these officers are. If they can do this to a superior officer, then imagine what they can do to an ordinary civilian.
Oh brethren we should not speak like this all we need to do is to “PRAY” because all this is the work of Devil, for God teaches us to be peacefully and loving, but it is the devil in us that teaches us how to make weapons for Mass destruction.
Joshua, let me ask u just one question, who is the devil, let us stop deceiving ourselves, whenever we misbehave, we say its the devil, read the book of James 1:14.
indiscipline is the bane of Nigerian police.
